Rock The Debates!

Rock the Debates is a 527 devoted to opening the debates up to all candidates.

They have posted video clips of nine presidential candidates on its website responding to the question of whether they would be willing to debate third party and independent candidates in the 2008 general election. Answers from Hillary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, Barack Obama, Bill Richardson, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo and Sam Brownback were captured in one-on-one conversations with Rock The Debates organizers while the candidates were in retail politicking mode in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Voter Rolls Purging

The Department of Justice's Voting Section is pressuring 10 states to purge voter rolls before the 2008 election based on statistics that former Voting Section attorneys and other experts say are flawed and do not confirm that those states have more voter registrations than eligible voters, as the department alleges.

The 10 states receiving Voting Section purge letters are Iowa, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Vermont.

Voter roll purges, if incorrectly done, can be a factor in determining election outcomes -- particularly in tight races. Unlike most of the "voter fraud" cases cited by GOP activists, where a handful of registrations -- usually in the single digits -- from big voter registration drives are found to be erroneous, purges can affect thousands of voters. In Florida and Missouri in 2000, a total of 100,000 legal voters were incorrectly removed, according to academics and local election officials. In Cleveland in 2004, voter purges were a factor behind long lines and people leaving without voting as poll workers dealt with people who did not know they had been removed from voter lists, various media reported.

Is It the Voters Fault?

During the 2006 midterm elections, the Democrats where given the chance to take over Congress and stop the war. So in 2007 when they where not able to override the President with a veto, the voters complained with giving the Congress a very low negative rating.

But who's at fault? True, Democrats won many seats but not enough. By missing the mark, the voters missed their opportunity. They left their hopes, the Democrats, without the necessary votes to override the president.

So what will they do next time? What do you recommend?

50 Years Of History, Six Years Of Corruption

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of Civil Rights Division in the Department of Justice. Today, the problems of race and poverty "still require the highest caliber of attention," seen, for example, in the bungled response to Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. But under President Bush, the section has seen the erosion of rights and been corrupted with politicization.

Use the above link to get a detail review of what is happenning with "MINORITIES HURT BY POLITICIZATION" and "LAX MINORITY PROTECTION".
